Coordinates: 28 ° 53 ′ S , 121 ° 19 ′ E The Shire of Leonora is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Western Australia . The area is 32,189 km² and has around 1400 inhabitants (2016).
Leonora is located in the center of the state about 630 kilometers northeast of the capital Perth . The seat of the Shire Council is in the village of Leonora , where about 550 inhabitants live (2016).

The Leonora Council has nine members. They are elected by the residents of the two wards (five from the South and four from the North Ward). The Council Chairman and Shire President are also recruited from among the Councilor.
