Leopold Bieder

Leopold Bieder (born September 30, 1921 in Kirchbach , parish of St. Andrä-Wölker ; † February 14, 1987 in Maria Gugging ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and qualified nurse. From 1964 to 1983 he was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament .

Life

After finishing elementary and community school, Bieder completed an apprenticeship as a baker and began training as a nurse in 1939. From 1941 he did military service in World War II, where he was taken prisoner by the British. Bieder worked in the hospital service after the Second World War and in 1956 became the federal chairman of hospital employees in the public service union . Bieder represented the SPÖ between December 3, 1964 and November 4, 1983 in the Lower Austrian state parliament and served as a municipal council in Klosterneuburg from 1967 to 1980 .
