Leopold Neumer
Leopold Neumer (born February 8, 1919 - March 19, 1990 ) was an Austrian national soccer player .
Career
Left winger Leopold Neumer began his career at 1. Simmeringer SC . He was brought to Vienna Austria in 1935, and from the 1936/37 season he was a regular member of the combat team. Leopold Neumer played for the Veilchen for eleven years until the 1946/47 season and was able to become Austrian runner- up in 1937 and 1946 and the ÖFB Cup final in 1947 , which went to Wacker . At the age of eighteen the left winger played in the Austrian national team , making his debut against Hungary on October 10, 1937 . In his second international match he scored against Czechoslovakia , and due to the annexation of Austria by the German Empire, it was to be the last Austrian international goal for eight years.
For the 1938 World Cup , Leopold Neumer was forced to drive with a “ Greater German team ”, and he himself also played in the second round in a replay against Switzerland . After the end of the war, however, he was back in the first Austrian home game against France in 1945 , and he also scored a goal in the famous 4-1 victory. After his career with Austria, he came back to his regular club Simmering through the favorite SK Blau-Weiß , and he also played in the A-League for the Red-Blacks in 1951/52 .
