Leopold Walraf

Leopold Walraf (born November 1, 1877 in Mönchengladbach ; † December 10, 1957 ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

education and profession

Walraf attended the Progymnasium after elementary school and then the technical colleges in Charlottenburg and Dresden. From 1904 he was director and co-owner of the Anton Walraf Sons company in Grevenbroich .

politics

In 1908 he joined the German Center Party , from which he left in 1933. Until 1933 he was an alderman of the city of Grevenbroich and a member of the city council and the Grevenbroich district council. After the Second World War he became a member of the CDU and became chairman of the party in the Grevenbroich district. Walraf was appointed a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia in the second appointment period, in which he was elected in the first two regular legislative periods. He moved into the state parliament through a direct mandate in the 028 Grevenbroich-West constituency, to which he belonged from December 19, 1946 to July 4, 1954.
