Leptokarya ( Greek Λεπτοκαρυά ( f. Sg. )) Is a village in the municipality of Zagori in the Greek region of Epirus . At the same time it forms a local community.
The local community Leptokarya extends over 32.128 km² in the southeast of the municipality of Tymfi and borders on the municipality of Anatoliki Zagori . The village of Leptokarya is 1000 m above sea level on the road between Frangades and Doliani.
Under its former name Liaskovetsi, the rural community (Κοινότητα Λιασκοβετσιου) was founded in 1919. In 1927 it was renamed Leptokarya. After the municipal reform in 1997 , Leptokarya was merged with 11 other rural municipalities to form the municipality of Tymfi . On the occasion of the administrative reform in 2010, this in turn became a district in the municipality of Zagori. Since then Leptokarya has had the status of a local community.
