The panoramic mountain Les Pléiades is located at 1360 m above sea level. M. in the north of Blonay in Switzerland . It is - with the Rochers de Naye - the local mountain of Montreux .
The mountain was originally called Les Pleiaux , the current name was given to it by the writer Philippe Bridel (1757–1845) with reference to the Pleiades of Greek mythology.
It can be reached with the cog railway of Transports Montreux-Vevey-Riviera that of Vevey drives over Blonay Les Pléiades.
The view extends over Lake Geneva to the south , the Rhone Valley between Rochers de Naye and Dents du Midi to the snow-capped ice giants of Mont Blanc .
Les Pléiades are famous for their wild poet's daffodils in May. The moor below Les Pléiades, between Prantin and Lally, is looked after by the University of Lausanne .
