Lesléa Newman
Lesléa Newman (* 1955 in Brooklyn , New York ) is an American author .
Newman has written over 40 books to date. She lives openly as a lesbian and is a representative of feminism . The subjects of her books include her life as a Jew, the subjects of body image and eating disorders , lesbian life, rainbow families and her gender role as a femme .
She received the Massachusetts Artists Fellowship in Poetry and the James Baldwin Prize as literary awards . Four of her books were finalists for the Lambda Literary Award .
