Lester Peak is an ice-free peak south of the Hyde Glacier in the Edson Hills in the West Antarctic Heritage Range .
The mountain was mapped by the United States Geological Survey as part of the survey of the area in 1961-1966 through field surveys and aerial photography by the United States Navy . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1966 after Lester A. Johnson, who had worked as a meteorologist at the American research station Little America V in 1958.
