Leucippus (Lycia)
Leukippos ( Greek Λεύκιππος ) is in Greek mythology the son of Xanthios from Lycia , a descendant of Bellerophon .
Leukippos is in love with his sister and is surprised by her father during sexual intercourse with her, whom he then kills. After the murder he goes to Crete with a Thessalian colony and from there founds Cretinaion near Ephesus .
He was identified by an inscription on an Athenian statue with Leukippos , the founder of Magnesia am Meander . However, since the inscription was not made until the 2nd century AD, the identity of the statue of Leucippus with one of the two mythical city founders is questionable.
