Leungo Scotch (born February 28, 1996 ) is a Botswana sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run .

Athletic career

Leungo Scotch gained his first experience at international championships in 2014 at the Junior World Championships in Eugene , where he was eliminated in the first round over 400 meters with 47.81 s. He also took part in the Botswana 4 x 100 meter relay, but also retired there with 40.53 seconds in the lead. In addition, he reached the final with the 4 x 400 meter relay, but was disqualified there. The following year he reached the final at the Junior African Championships in Addis Ababa in the individual competition over 400 meters, but was disqualified there. With the 4 x 100 meter relay, he won the silver medal in 40.95 seconds and the gold medal in the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 11.00 minutes. In 2018 he reached the semi-finals at the African Championships in Asaba , where he was eliminated with 47.32 seconds. With the relay he was used at least in advance; participation in the final is not documented. In the following year he won the Africa Games in Rabat in 45.27 seconds over 400 meters as well as with the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 02.55 minutes. He also qualified for the World Championships in Doha , where he reached the semi-finals , in which he was eliminated with 45.00 s. In addition, he was disqualified with the relay in the run-up.

In 2016, Scotch became the Botswana champion in the 4-by-400-meter relay.
