Lev Matveevich Vainschtein ( Russian Лев Матвеевич Вайнштейн ; born March 12, 1916 in Yekaterinburg , Russian Empire , † December 25, 2004 in Moscow ) was a Soviet sports shooter .
successes
Lew Wainschtein took part in the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki . With the free rifle, he took third place in the three-position fight over 300 m behind Anatoli Bogdanow and Robert Bürchler and thus won the bronze medal. With the free pistol he was fifth.
Two years later, Wainschtein became world champion in the team competitions with the free pistol and the large-bore pistol in Caracas . With the latter, he secured the silver medal with the team in Moscow in 1958 .
