Lev Mikhailovich Khinchuk ( Russian Лев Михайлович Хинчук ; born November 16 . Jul / 28. November  1868 greg. In Poltava ; † 14. March 1944 ) was a Soviet diplomat.

Life

Chintschuk was Menshevik from 1903 and had opposed the 1917 uprising . From 1917 to 1918 he was a member of the counter-revolutionary "Committee for the Salvation of the Fatherland and the Revolution" and in 1920 he joined the Bolshevik Party. Chinchuk supported Stalin in the factional struggle and was ambassador to Germany from 1930 to 1934. He was arrested in the Soviet Union in 1937 and, according to official information, died in the prison camp in 1944. According to other sources, he was sentenced to death and shot in Moscow on March 7, 1939.

In 1956, Khinchuk was rehabilitated.
