Andrius Kupčinskas (born March 20, 1975 in Kaunas ) is a Lithuanian conservative politician , former mayor of Kaunas municipality .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1993, Kupčinskas studied history and political science from 1993 to 1998 at the Faculty of Humanities at Vytautas Magnus University Kaunas (VDU). In 2000 he completed his master's degree in information and communication at the Institute for Political Science and Diplomacy of the VDU.

From 1997 to 2000 Kupčinskas was an advisor to Kaunas City Council , from 1998 to 1999 a reporter for the newspaper “Kauno žinios”, from 2000 to 2003 manager of UAB “Baltic Pack”, from 2003 to 2007 advisor on youth and sport issues to the mayor of Kaunas . From April 2007 he was mayor of Kaunas.

Since 1993 he has been a member of the conservative TS-LKD party . From 1994 he was a member and then head of the League of Young Conservatives .

family

His grandfather was the doctor Juozas Kupčinskas , rector of the Vytautas Magnus University Kaunas (1946–1950) and director of the Kaunas Medical Academy (1950–1953).

His father is Rytas Kupčinskas (* 1949), a member of the Seimas .

Andrius Kupčinskas is married and has a son and a daughter with his wife Jurgita.
