Lev Markowitsch Schlosberg ( Russian Лев Маркович Шлосберг , born July 30, 1963 in Pskow , USSR ) is a Russian journalist and a leading representative of the Yabloko party .

Life

Lew Schlosberg is the son of a teacher of Jewish origin. His maternal great-grandfather was a cantor ( Chasan ) in Daugavpils .

From 1980 to 1985 he studied at the History Faculty of the State Pedagogical University in Pskov. After his military service, he worked as a teacher in a technical school near Pskov since 1987.

In 1990 he founded the social project Wosroschdenije . In 1991 he was named "Social Innovator of the USSR". In 1993 he founded a psychological telephone counseling service in Pskov.

In 1994 he joined the company "Yabloko", in 1998 he became chairman of its regional association in the Pskov region. Since 1998 he has been involved in various municipal projects in Pskov. In 2001 he became editor and editorial director of the regional newspaper Pskovskaya Gubernija .

In 2011 he became a member of the regional parliament for the Yabloko party. He continued his journalistic activities. An article dated August 25, 2014 caused a sensation in which it reported on two soldiers from Pskov who were likely killed in fighting in eastern Ukraine.

In 2015 he was suspended from his MP status by a decision of the parliament. At the end of the year he ran in vain for the party chairmanship of "Yabloko". In 2016, on behalf of the party, he held talks with other opposition forces such as PARNAS about a joint electoral alliance for the Duma elections without success, but returned to the regional parliament.

In 2016 he was awarded the Boris Nemtsov Prize of the Boris Nemtsov Foundation for Freedom "for extraordinary courage in the struggle for democratic values ​​and human rights and for a free Russia".
