BC Levski Sofia is a Bulgarian basketball team that is part of the Levski Sofia club from Sofia . The men's and women's teams won a total of 53 national and four international titles.

history

The club was founded in 1914, and Levski has had a basketball team since 1923.

Men's

The club's men's team always played an important role in Bulgarian club basketball from the 1940s and won the championship seventeen times by 2001. They were the record champions until 2008, when local rivals Akademik won their eighteenth title. The men's team also performed very successfully in the Bulgarian Cup, which was won fourteen times, most recently in 2010.

The men won a title internationally, and in 2010 they won the Balkan League .

Ladies

The women's team dominated the Bulgarian women's basketball league in the 1980s and 1990s and secured eight championships and thirteen cup wins.

The biggest success of the women's team, however, was winning the highest European cup in women's basketball, the EuroLeague . This was won in 1984.

In addition, the women won the Ronchetti Cup (now Women EuroCup) twice in a row, in 1978 and 1979 .

The club plays its home games in the 4,000-seat Universiada Hall .
