Li Tie ( Chinese  李鐵  /  李铁 , Pinyin Lǐ Tiě , born September 18, 1977 in the Liaoning Province ) is a former Chinese soccer player and today's soccer coach.

Career

player

The defensive midfielder began his football career in China with Liaoning Hongyun and Shenzhen Asia Travel . In 2002 the Chinese went to Europe for Everton FC , where he played until 2006. He could never really assert himself there and then moved within the Premier League to promoted Sheffield United , where he did not come to a single use in two years. In 2008 Tie returned home and signed a contract with the Chengdu Blades , which he left a year later to return to his regular club Liaoning Hongyun.

Li Tie has played 91 times for the Chinese national soccer team and scored five goals. In 2012 he ended his football career.

Trainer

In early 2020, it was announced that Tie was the new coach of the Chinese national team. Before that, he worked there as an interim trainer.
