Li Xueyong

Li Xueyong ( Chinese  李学勇 ; * 1950 in Tieli , Heilongjiang Province ) is a politician in the People's Republic of China .

From 1978 to 1982 Li studied at the University of Chemical Engineering Beijing , which he graduated with a bachelor's degree. After various positions, including teaching at this university and vice-mayor of Xi'an , he was vice-minister in the Ministry of Science and Technology from 1998 to 2010.

From 2010 he was the governor of Jiangsu Province , initially until February 2011, as the successor to Luo Zhijun , who was promoted to party secretary of the province . He has been Deputy Party Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Provincial Committee since 2010. From 2015 he succeeded Shi Taifeng as governor.

He has been a member of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party since 2007 .
