The municipality of Liangzhou ( Chinese  凉州区 , Pinyin Liángzhōu Qū ) is a municipality in the prefecture -level city of Wuwei in the center of the Chinese province of Gansu . Liangzhou has an area of ​​5,081 km² and a population of 980,000 (2003).
