Liberaler Mittelstand eV - Bundesvereinigung ( LiM ) is an organizationally and financially independent preliminary organization of the FDP . It represents the interests of the business economy vis-à-vis the party and wants to help shape its economic policy in line with the social market economy according to liberal principles.

Inner structure

The registered association is organized in 14 national associations and a Brussels group. The regional associations in turn consist of regional associations. The Liberal Mittelstand had around 1,850 members in 2017. In addition to numerous incumbent and former MEPs and members of the Bundestag, they also include the former chairman of the FDP parliamentary group Rainer Brüderle , the former federal minister for economics and technology and former federal chairman of the FDP, Philipp Rösler, and the former state economics ministers Jörg Bode , Sven Morlok and Martin Zeil .

history

The association was founded in 1984 by Josef Grünbeck, a member of the Bundestag at the time, as an association for liberal middle-class policy in Bavaria . From 1996 the association appeared as a Liberal Initiative for SMEs. Since November 2004 the designation "Bundesvereinigung Liberaler Mittelstand eV" has been in effect.

Middle class award of the Liberal Middle Class Lower Saxony

Since 2004, the Lower Saxony regional association has awarded medium-sized companies the medium-sized company award. The competitors must in particular by the criteria

  • innovative products or services
  • economic importance for the region
  • Securing and creating jobs
  • Sustainability of corporate business

distinguish. The previous winners were Dedon GmbH (2004), MST Schlauchtechnik (2005) and Laurens Spethmann Holding (2009).

Excellence Award from Liberal Medium-Sized Companies Hessen eV

Every year, the Hessen State Association of Liberal Medium-Sized Enterprises honors entrepreneurs who have demonstrated outstanding entrepreneurial and social activities. So far, award winners have been Hans Strothoff, Stefan Messer, Karl Gerhard Seifart, Rowald Hepp and Heinrich Donatus Landgrave of Hesse. In recent years, the prize was awarded in the Schlosshotel Kronberg as part of a gala evening in front of over one hundred Hessian executives. The 2017 award winner is IT entrepreneur Klaus Christian Plönzke. The award is made by a working group of the state board of the Liberal Mittelstand based on a board decision. The 2017 laudation was given by the Prime Minister of Hesse, Volker Bouffier .
