Melanie Herrmann (born August 3, 1989 in Ansbach ) is a German - Austrian handball player who is under contract with the Bundesliga club Neckarsulmer Sport-Union .

Career

Hermann started playing handball at HG Ansbach in 1995. The 1.80 m tall, playing handball goalkeeper , moved to HSG Blomberg-Lippe in 2005 . In the next three seasons she was in the squad of the A-youth, as well as the women's team. With the women's team, Herrmann was promoted to the Bundesliga in 2006 and won the German championship with the A-youth team in 2008. From the summer of 2008 she was under contract with Frankfurter HC until the latter went bankrupt. Melanie Herrmann moved to HC Leipzig on a free transfer for the 2013/14 season . In the 2014/15 season she played for Frisch Auf Göppingen . In the summer of 2015, she joined the second division Neckarsulmer Sport-Union . With Neckarsulm, she rose to the Bundesliga in 2016.

Herrmann has been a citizen of Austria since 2012 and competes for its national team.
