Lucie-Marie Kretzschmar (born August 7, 2000 in Magdeburg ) is a German handball player who belongs to the squad of the German national beach handball team.

Career

In the club

Kretzschmar started playing handball at HSC 2000 Magdeburg . Later, the youth department of HSC 2000 Magdeburg formed the JSG Halle / Magdeburg / Barleben with other clubs, from which Kretzschmar moved to HC Leipzig in 2014 . Here she was later used as a B-youth in the A-Junior Handball Bundesliga . From 2017, Kretzschmar was a member of the Leipzig women's team, with which she played in the 3rd division . In the A-Jugend-Bundesliga 2018/19 the backcourt player won the bronze medal with the HCL. In the same season she won the championship of the Eastern Season with the women's team in the 3rd division. Since the 2019/20 season she has been playing for the Bundesliga club Neckarsulmer Sport-Union . On September 11, 2019, Kretzschmar scored a goal in her first Bundesliga game.

In selection teams

Lucie-Marie Kretzschmar was a member of the German youth national team. In addition, she played for the youth beach handball national team. She won the bronze medal at the U18 European Beach Handball Championship in 2018. Kretzschmar is now running for the German national beach handball team, with which she took part in the Euro 2019 beach handball and was tenth.

Her grandparents Waltraud Kretzschmar and Peter Kretzschmar and her father Stefan Kretzschmar were national handball players. Her mother is the Cuban Maria Linares and she has a younger brother.
