The 2018/19 season of the youth Bundesliga handball (JBLH) female is the sixth season of the top German division in handball of the female A-youth . It began on September 8, 2018 with the first match day of the preliminary round and ends with the Final Four on 15/16. June 2019. The host of the 2018/19 youth national league is the German Handball Federation (DHB).
Grouping
The youth game committee of the DHB determined the following group allocation on June 15, 2018:
- Group 1: HC Leipzig, TV Nellingen, HCD Gröbenzell
- Group 2: SG BBM Bietigheim, wJSG Bad Soden / Schwalb / N., TuS Schutterwald
- Group 3: TV Aldekerk, SG Kappelwindeck / Steinbach, HSG Bensheim / Auerbach
- Group 4: BV Borussia Dortmund, DJK SF Budenheim, TG Hörste
- Group 5: HSG Blomberg-Lippe, SV Union Halle-Neustadt, HSG Marne / Brunsbüttel
- Group 6: TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen, PSV Recklinghausen, SG Rödertal / Radeberg
- Group 7: VfL Oldenburg, TSV Nord Harrislee, Rostocker HC
- Group 8: Buxtehuder SV, Frankfurter HC, HSG Nienburg
Preliminary round
Group 1
HC Leipzig dominated Group 1 and was the group winner early on. HCD Gröbenzell also qualified for the second round, while TV Nellingen was eliminated before the final game against Leipzig.

Group 2
The placements in Group 2 were already determined before the final encounter. In the decisive game for group victory, SG BBM Bietigheim was unable to compensate for its injury-related losses and had to admit defeat to the Bad Soden syndicate with a clear 27:36. Both teams had previously qualified for the second round. TuS Schutterwald was eliminated in all four games after narrow defeats.

Group 3
With four wins in four games, the SG Kappelwindeck / Steinbach ultimately prevailed confidently in Group 3. As runners-up in the group, TV Aldekerk also qualified for the intermediate round. HSG Bensheim / Auerbach remained without points and retired.

Group 4
With sovereign victories, Borussia Dortmund was group 4 winner early on. Second place, combined with reaching the intermediate round, was secured by Budenheim with a clear 34:23 home win in the decisive game against TG Hörste. The final game between Budenheim and Dortmund was meaningless.

Group 5
In Group 5, the HSG Marne / Brunsbüttel decided the direct comparison against Blomberg-Lippe and became group winners after a 44:32 win in the final game against Union Halle-Neustadt. After significant defeats in all four games, the team from Halle (Saale) was eliminated.

In Group 6, Bayer 04 Leverkusen secured group victory over SG Rödertal / Radeberg due to the better direct comparison. Both teams qualified for the second round, while PSV Recklinghausen were eliminated without a point.

Group 7
In Group 7, VfL Oldenburg was able to win its first three games and thus secure the group victory early. In the last encounter, Nord Harrislee won 30:25 in Rostock and thus also reached the second round; the Rostocker HC dropped out.

Group 8
In Group 8, the Frankfurt HC won the direct comparison against Buxtehude and secured group victory in the final game against HSG Nienburg. Buxtehude also reached the intermediate round as second in the group, while Nienburg was eliminated without a point.

Intermediate round
For the intermediate round, the top two teams in each of the eight preliminary round groups qualified. The game was played in four groups on three weekends between January 13th and February 24th, 2019, with the top two qualifying for the quarter-finals. Quarter finals

With Leipzig, Leverkusen, Marne / Brunsbüttel and Dortmund, the four group winners of the intermediate round were able to prevail in the quarterfinals.

The Final Four was on the weekend 1./2. June 2019 in the Flensburg Wikinghalle ; The host was the HSG Marne / Brunsbüttel .

In a dramatic final, in which no team was able to clear more than three goals over the entire season, Borussia Dortmund's female A-youth defeated defending champions Bayer Leverkusen 22:21 and became German champions in 2019.
