Maike Daniels (born May 29, 1985 in Bottrop ) is a former German handball player and today's handball trainer .

Career

The 1.75 meter tall backcourt player played for TSG Benrath from 1993 to 1998, moved to Neusser HV in 1998 and from here to HC Leipzig for the first time in 2002 , then she played for SV Union Halle-Neustadt from 2005 to 2007 . From 2007 Daniels was again under contract with HC Leipzig. In summer 2011 she moved to Frisch Auf Göppingen . In the summer of 2015, she joined the second division Neckarsulmer Sport-Union . With Neckarsulm, she rose to the Bundesliga in 2016. After the 2018/19 season, Daniels ended her career. She then worked as assistant coach for the first team at Neckarsulmer Sport-Union, as a coach for the second team at NSU and as a coach at JSG Neckar Kocher. After Pascal Morgant was released from his duties in January 2020, she took over the interim coaching position of the Bundesliga team. Since the summer of 2020 she has been working as an assistant trainer again.

Her successes include the German championship in 2009 and 2010, the cup win in 2008 and the win of the Supercup in 2008, as well as the 7th place with the juniors at the European championship 2004. With Leipzig she played in the EHF Cup and the EHF Champions League .

Maike Daniels is a student of German, journalism and religious studies.
