The Neuss handball club e. V. is a handball club from the North Rhine-Westphalian city of Neuss . It was founded on July 14, 1992. The purpose of the association is to promote sport and sporting youth welfare.
Handball women
The first women's team played for several years in the regional handball league , from which they were relegated in 2008 .
In the 2018/2019 and 2019/20 seasons, the first women played in the major league.
Handball men
The first men's team of the NHV rose in 2013 as Niederrheinmeister from the handball league to the 3rd division .
Since the 2017/18 season, the male division of the club has played initially in cooperation with ART Düsseldorf and then after ART has left Rhein Vikings eV under the name HSG Neuss / Düsseldorf . The syndicate ended with the 2019/20 season.
From the 2020/21 season onwards, all teams in the Neusser Handballverein eV will play together as "Neusser HV".
The current venue of the Neusser Handballverein eV is the Hammfeldhalle.
Professional handball men
The professional team of the game association HSG Neuss / Düsseldorf took part in the games of the 2nd handball Bundesliga under the brand name " HC Rhein Vikings" in the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons .
The home ground of the second division team was the Castello in Düsseldorf .
QuirinusCup
The Neusser HV has been organizing the Quirinus Cup, an international youth handball tournament, since 1983. The tournament traditionally takes place over Whitsun.
In 2019, 145 teams played over 300 games in 9 age groups and 11 halls in the city of Neuss and in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss. The international tournament has participants from 15 nations.
In 2020, the tournament was canceled for the first time since it was founded due to the corona pandemic.
