Light trough

The Lichte Trough is a deep sea channel in the Weddell Sea off the coast of the East Antarctic Prince Regent Luitpold Land .
The channel is named after the German geodesist Heinrich Lichte (1910–1988) at the suggestion of the surveyor and glaciologist Heinrich Hinze from the Alfred Wegener Institute . The designation was confirmed in June 1997 by the US Advisory Committee for Undersea Features (ACUF).
