Eyelid edema
An eyelid edema is an edema on the eyelid . It is the medical term for what is colloquially understood as "puffy eyes". Lid edema is a symptom of endocrine orbitopathy and can be classified using the LEMO classification .
The lid edema can be divided into the following groups:
- Allergic eyelid edema
- Non-allergic eyelid edema
- Forwarded edema (collateral edema)
- Lid edema in blepharochalasis
- Melkersson-Rosenthal syndrome
- Morning eyelid edema
Lid edema cannot be permanently treated surgically.
