The Canal de Cuevas de Almanzora is an artificial lake in the Spanish municipality of Cuevas de Almanzora , which has been used as a regatta course and for local recreation since 2005 .
history
The Canal de Cuevas de Almanzora - or Canal de Remo y Piragüismo de Cuevas del Almanzora - was built north of the village of Cuevas de Almanzora for the 2005 Mediterranean Games . It is located below the dam of the Almanzora , which through the basin flowing therethrough before coming to the Mediterranean flows. 12.2 million euros have been budgeted for the construction of the plant .
The six canoe racing events and the eight rowing competitions were held at distances of 500 m and 1000 m on the regatta course.
In addition to reggaten , the Canal de Cuevas de Almanzora is used for wakeboarding , among other things .

The Canal de Cuevas de Almanzora has a basin with the length of 1200 m and the width of 105 m.
The system does not meet the requirements of category A of the World Rowing Association FISA and is therefore unsuitable for international rowing regattas : In addition to the lack of a separate training channel, the length of the route is less than the required two kilometers.
There is a timing building and a boathouse , but there is no permanent grandstand .
