The Lidingöloppet is a Swedish cross-country competition over a distance of 30 kilometers. The organizer is the IFK Lidingö sports club .

The running competition was first held in 1965. Of the 644 registered participants, 512 runners then reached the finish. Since then, the race has seen increasing numbers of participants and became the largest event of its kind in the world. In 1982 it was therefore included in the Guinness Book of Records . The Lidingöloppet had more than 44,000 registered participants in 2012.

The Lidingöloppet is part of an overall competition called the Swedish Classic and consists of individual long-distance races in different sports. The field of participants is made up of professional athletes and recreational runners.
