Lie in Ruins is a Finnish death metal band from Espoo that was founded in 1993 under the name Dissected .
history
The band was founded in 1993 under the name Dissected. After releasing a few demos, the band paused for a few years until they finally got back together in 2002. They developed new songs and released the demo ... Monuments in 2005. Then a new guitarist joined the band. The band worked again on songs and released the next demo ... Statues in 2006. After that, new members came back to the line-up, so that the band now consisted of five members. Meanwhile, Temple of Darkness Records released the EP Architecture of the Dead , which was a compilation of the first two demos. This was followed by the split release with deathevocation called An Allegiance in Death via Imperium Productions . In the summer of 2009, the drummer left the cast. The band went into the studio to record their debut album Swallowed by the Void . The album was released in October 2009 on Spikefarm Records .
style
The band plays classic death metal of the 1990s, with the use of lower-pitched guitars being characteristic. The music is comparable to that of Entombed .
