Joachim Friedrich Carstens
Joachim Friedrich Carstens (born May 20, 1632 in Lübeck ; † September 26, 1701 ibid) was a German lawyer and councilor of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.
Life
Joachim Friedrich Carstens was the second of three sons of the Lübeck Syndicus Joachim Carstens . He studied from 1650 to 1653 in Halberstadt and at the University of Strasbourg and completed his studies as a licentiate in law. His Grand Tour took him to Paris, Montpellier and Padua. 1657 he was at the University of Rostock Dr. jur. PhD. In Lübeck he first practiced as a lawyer , then in 1669 he became council secretary and finally in 1687 councilor of the city. He was buried in the Katharinenkirche . His son Joachim Lothar Carstens became mayor of the city of Lübeck.
His family book (friendship album) with entries from the years 1649 to 1651 is preserved in the Lübeck City Library .
