Dark Descent Records is an American music label based in Colorado Springs that specializes in death metal , black metal and various types of doom metal .
The label was founded in 2009 by Matt Calvert as a sideline, who was still serving in the US military at the time, and became his full-time employment in early 2012. Dark Descent Records' first release was the EP Burial Invocation from Ritual of the Grotesque , a Turkish death metal band.
