history

The band was founded in 2007 by the singer Jules and the guitarist Stefan. A short time later, bassist Pascal "Kalle" and drummer Oli joined the cast. In April 2008 the recording of the first demo Into the Depths of Infinity began . Meanwhile Florian joined the group as the second guitarist. After the demo was released, several appearances followed. In addition, work began on the debut album Dawn of Winter . The band received a contract with Obscure Domain Productions in early 2009 , which was released in August 2010. In July 2011, a split release followed with the Italian band Profanal. After that, work on the second album began while gigs were held, including at the NRW Deathfest, where Asphyx , Entrails and Krypts also played. The album was recorded in December and released in mid-2012 under the name Putrefying Illusions via Obscure Domain Productions. Then the line-up of the band changed and Florian was replaced by Sascha and Oli by Thomas "O." This was followed by other appearances, including at Party.San and the Kill-Town Death Fest. The group also signed a contract with FDA Rekotz . After a split release with deathronation , the band recorded three songs that appeared on various split releases. In 2015 the album Perpetual Descending into Nothingness was released via FDA Rekotz . During the recording, twelve songs were created, eight of which made it onto the album. Since O. is involved in too many other projects, he can only be heard on phonograms. Live performances are planned, with bassist Kalle taking over the drums instead.

style

According to the band biography on obscureinfinity.jimdo.com , the band was influenced by traditional death metal bands of the 1990s such as Unleashed , Grave , Death and Asphyx . However, she also tries to incorporate influences from Thrash and Black Metal . According to Sebastian Schilling from Rock Hard , the band, like their label colleagues Chapel of Disease, concentrates on old-school death metal, but without restricting itself to mere reenactment. In an interview with Schilling, Stefan stated that the band plays Death Metal, but they also try to process influences from other metal genres. According to Schilling, the song Forlorn Wanderer has clear vocals and spoken word passages. According to Stefan von A., a member of the band Chaos Invocation, the text was written and deals with "a man who walks the long and lonely path to spiritual liberalization without compromise". Marek Protzak from metal.de also heard in his review of Perpetual Descending into Nothingness not only Death Metal but also slight Black Metal influences. The lead guitar sounded like Dissection and the riffs of Swedish death metal. The atmosphere is similar to that of old Pestilence publications. Expiration of the Lost includes a riff that sounds like Kreator on Renewal and From Odium and Disease processes a riff that would fit Stormtroopers of Death .
