Deathronation is a Bavarian death metal band from Nuremberg , which was founded in 2004 under the name Eyesore .

history

The band was founded at the beginning of 2004 under the name Eyesore and consisted of the bassist and singer Bastian “B. Cunthammer ”Silberkuhl, the guitarist and singer Stiff Old and the drummer Sascha“ Eyehate ”“ I-H8 ”Pratnekar. In the summer of 2005, the group played their first appearances and recorded a first demo in the winter, but it was never released. Performances followed after the first rehearsals. A few months later Silberkuhl left the band because he didn't have the time for this project. A little later the bassist S. Muerte and the guitarist Randy Rots joined the line-up and the name was changed to Deathronation.

After further rehearsals and concerts, the group recorded a first demo in October and November 2006 under the name A Soil Forsaken ... , which consisted of four songs that were included on the unreleased Eyesore demo. At that time the band also played appearances with Blizzard , Dead Congregation , Golem , Necros Christos , Kaamos , Nocturnal Breed , Pentacle , Portrait , Sufferage , Slugathor , Warhammer and Wolfthorn . The following year the line-up changed a lot, so that only Stiff Old remained. As a result, it was also not possible to publish the previously advertised second demo. In 2009 the band took a break. However, this changed again with the addition of new members. First came the drummer Michael “Mr. Freeze ”Müller added before S. Muerte returned on bass and Silberkuhl on electric guitar. In 2013 the group went on tour with Obliteration and Degial . In 2014, the debut album Hallow the Dead was released via Ván Records . The release concert took place on October 25, 2014 in Oberhausen . The album was also released on record by Iron Bonehead Productions .

style

According to Stefan Franke from voicesfromthedarkside.de , the band plays on Hallow the Dead old-school death metal in the style of early Possessed , Death and Morgoth . In addition, the music is complemented by the dark and atmospheric moments of Asphyx and Autopsy . You can hear an accent in the singing, reminiscent of John Tardy and Marc Grewe . The vicious atmosphere that the album occupies would be reminiscent of Sodom's Persecution Mania . In addition, the music can be compared with that of Sadistic Intent and Mortem . According to Sebastian Schilling from Rock Hard , the band plays Death Metal, which stands “on a solid Thrash foundation” and is “ fueled by black metallic zeal”. However, Death Metal predominates. The music is comparable to that of Excoriate , Repugnant and Tribulation (up to the album The Horror ). Deathronation, however, is more varied and strives for distinctive melodies. There is also a spoken word passage from a woman, which is reminiscent of Vanity / Nemesis by Celtic Frost . In the next issue with Schiller, Stiff Old cited influences from US groups and bands of the 1990s such as Deicide , Death, Morbid Angel , Immolation , Gorguts and Sadistic Intent. The album is about death and transience.
