Slugathor was a death metal band that was formed in Espoo in 1999 and broke up in 2009.
history
The band was founded in 1999 and consisted of guitarist Tommi, drummer Immu, bassist Tatte and singer Nebiros. Together they recorded their first demos Delicacies of the Cadaver and Fabric of the Multiverse and released them in 2000. After about two years, Tommi and Immu decided to change the line-up of the band. Axu was added as a new singer. A short time later, guitarist Antti and Tuoppi joined the band as the new bass player. With this line-up, the band recorded another demo in 2002, which contained two newly recorded and two completely new songs. Meanwhile they also recorded a live concert in Helsinki and released it as a live album in 2003. Antti briefly disappeared from the line-up, but came back to play bass. As a result, Tuoppi switched to the electric guitar. At the end of 2003, the debut album Unleashing the Slugathron was released via Agonia Records . Another demo followed in 2004. In 2005 guitarist Tuoppi died of a stab injury, so that Antti switched back to the electric guitar. Jarno joined the band for a short time as the new bass player, but was soon replaced by Juuso. The second album Circle of Death followed in 2006 . After that, the band signed a contract with Drakkar Records . 2006 also followed live performances in Moscow and Oulu . In 2009, Drakkar Records released their third album Echoes from Beneath , before the band split up that same year.

The band plays classic death metal and is comparable to other bands in the genre such as Autopsy , Asphyx and Unleashed .
