The Pangasinan State University (PSU) ( Filipino : State University ya Pangasinan ) is located in the province of Pangasinan in the Philippines . It is a state university and is considered a major educational institution in the administrative region of the Ilocos region . The main campus and administrative headquarters of the university is on Alvear Street in Lingayén . It has a total of eight external campuses in the communities of Alaminos City , Asingan , Bayambang , Binmaley , Infanta , San Carlos City , Santa Maria and Urdaneta City . A total of 22,250 students enrolled in the second semester of 2011 at the university.

Programs

The Pangasinan State University houses a wide variety of faculties , these are divided into higher education and technical school areas, as well as vocational training in training programs. These are, for example, the training programs in the areas of Administration, Arts, Design & Architecture, Business, Communication & Information Science, Computer Science and Mathematics, Fisheries, Industrial Technology, Language, Medical & Healthcare, Science, Social Science and Tourism & Hotel Administration. Advanced and preparatory programs for academic training are offered at the PSU Graduate School and PSU Open University. The Laboratory High School, Laboratory Elementary / Kindergarten and Infanta the Laboratory High School are located on the campus in Bayambang.

history

The university was founded on June 11, 1978, based on the presidential decree 1479. In the decree, the operational merger of the Asingan School of Arts and Trades (ASAT), Eastern Pangasinan Agricultural College (EPAC) in Sta. Maria, Pangasinan College of Fisheries (PCF) in Binmaley, Pangasinan School of Arts and Trades (PSAT) in Lingayen and the Speaker Eugenio Perez National Agricultural School (SEPNAS) in San Carlos City. Some of these were founded in the 1920s. The university began its work on July 1, 1979. In 1982 the first training programs for higher degrees were opened. In 1996, the PSU Open University System was set up, which is supposed to enable easier access to individual training programs.
