Mindanao State University
The Mindanao State University is located on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines . The university is considered a major educational institution in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao , Northern Mindanao , Sulu Archipelago and Zamboanga Peninsula . The university is divided into eleven locations in the municipalities of Datu Odin Sinsuat , Marawi City , General Santos City , Naawan , Iligan City , Jolo , Tawi-Tawi and Buug . The university's headquarters are located on the Main Campus in Marawi City.
Faculties
Mindanao State University has eighteen different faculties , these are divided into higher education and technical school areas, as well as colleges for vocational training . These include the College of Agriculture, College of Business Administration, College of Education, -Engineering, -Fisheries, -Forestry and Environmental Studies, -Health Sciences, -Hotel and Restaurant Management, -Information Technology, -Law, -Medicine, - Natural Sciences and Mathematics, -Public Affairs, -Social Sciences and Humanities, -Sports, Physical Education and Recreation, Graduate School, as well as the Institute of Science Education and the King Faisal Center for Islamic, Arabic and Asian Studies. In total, approximately 53,000 students enrolled at Mindanao State University in 2007 and are taught by 3,100 faculty.
history
The history of the university began on September 1, 1961 with the entry into force of the Republic Act 1387. The university emerged from the attempt to better integrate the southern parts of the country into the state structure of the Philippines. 282 students enrolled in the first year of study, who were taught by 12 teachers. In the 1970s and 1980s, the educational institutions and training programs were greatly expanded. Due to the new requirements, the MSU-Main campus in Marawi City, MSU-IIT in Iligan City, MSU-TCTO in Tawi-Tawi, MSU-Naawan in Misamis Oriental, MSU-Maguindanao, MSU-General Santos and MSU-Sulu on Jolo were created .
