Jose Rizal Memorial State University
The Jose Rizal Memorial State University is located on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines . The university is an important educational institution in the administrative region of Zamboanga del Norte , which is also the sponsor of the university. The university is divided into five locations in the municipalities of Dapitan City , Dipolog City , Siocon , Katipunan and Tampilisan . The headquarters of the university is located on the Main Campus in Dapitan City, in Gov. Guading Adaza Street, Barangay Sta. Cruz.
Faculties
The Jose Rizal Memorial State University is home to various faculties , these are divided into higher education and technical schools, as well as vocational training in colleges . These are the colleges: Arts and Sciences, Education, Engineering, Nursing and Allied Health Sciences, Marine Education, Agriculture, Criminology, Industrial Technology, Law and Graduate School. In the period from 2009 to 2010, a total of 344 study courses were offered at the various locations.
history
The history of the university began on July 4, 1947 when the Dapitan City Council opened Dapitan Junior High School. On July 1, 1960, when Republic Act 2436 came into effect, the school was renamed the Rizal Memorial National Vocational School (RMNVS). In 1986 the school was upgraded and the administration merged with the Zamboanga del Norte School of Arts and Trade (ZNSAT) in Dipolog City and the Siocon National Vocational School, creating the Jose Rizal Memorial State College (JRMSC). It was the only higher education institution in the Zamboanga del Norte province. In 2000, the State College was expanded to include the Katipunan National Agricultural School (KNAS) and the Zamboanga del Norte National Agricultural College (ZNAC) in Tampilisan, and the current organizational structure was created. On December 15, 2009, the college was granted university status with the signing of Republic Law 9852.
