Léon-Eugène-Aubin-Coullard Descos (born April 11, 1863 in Rouen , † August 26, 1931 in La Roche-en-Ardenne ) was a French diplomat .

Life

Léon-Eugène-Aubin-Coullard Descos studied law . He joined the Foreign Service on September 25, 1885 and was employed in the public relations department on the Quai d'Orsay . On September 25, 1885, he was transferred to Constantinople . On January 1, 1886, he was transferred to Caracas . On May 31, 1887, he was promoted to third class legation secretary. On July 6, 1890, he was transferred to Cairo . On November 15, 1893, he was promoted to second-class legation secretary. On July 10, 1894, he was transferred to Madrid .

On December 31, 1896 he became a knight and on July 20, 1909 an officer of the Legion of Honor . From December 22, 1897 he was employed at the Quai d'Orsay , where he was from March 19, 1898 deputy bureau chief of the Foreign Minister. From August 17, 1898, he was chargé d'affaires in Bucharest, where he was promoted to first-class legation secretary on September 14, 1898. On August 12, 1902, he was transferred to Tangier, where he was second class envoy from May 17, 1904. From May 17, 1904 he was envoy extraordinary and ministre plénipotentiaire in Port-au-Prince . From November 8, 1905 he was Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary in Tehran and from January 23, 1907 in Belgrade . On August 1, 1910, he was promoted to Minister Plenipotentiary. When he was in the on July 23, 1914 retirement was moved, he was the doyen of the diplomatic corps in Belgrade.
