The Jose Rizal Memorial Protected Landscape is located in the Zamboanga del Norte Province , in the Philippines . It was established by Presidential Decree No. 279 on April 23, 2000 in the area of ​​Dapitan City. The Jose Rizal Memorial Protected Landscape was established in honor of the Filipino national hero José Rizal . It covers an area of ​​439 hectares and a circumferential buffer zone with a size of 15 hectares . The Jose Rizal Memorial Protected Landscape is overseen by Jose Rizal Memorial State University .
