The Buug Natural Biotic Area is located in the Zamboanga del Sur Province of the Philippines . It was established by Presidential Decree No. 63 on December 22, 1998. The nature reserve is located in the administrative area of ​​the municipality of Buug , approx. 56 km southwest of the provincial capital Pagadian City and can be reached via the Maharlika Highway . The Buug Natural Biotic Area is located in a mountainous region that rises up to 500 meters above sea level. It covers an area of ​​1,095 hectares and a circumferential buffer zone of 470 hectares . In order to protect the nature reserve, mining activities are prohibited.
