The Dumanquilas Protected Landscape / Seascape is located in the provinces of Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga Sibugay , in the Philippines . It was established by Presidential Decree No. 158 on August 10, 1999. It covers the entire Dumanquilas Bay, all islands in the bay and the adjacent coastal areas. The reserve is located in the administrative areas of the municipalities of Malangas , Buug , Kumalarang , Lapuyan , Margosatubig and Vincenzo A. Sagun . The Dumanquilas Protected Landscape / Seascape is a combined nature reserve and marine reserve . Its facility is intended to protect the mangrove forests and the fish stocks in the bay. It covers an area of 25,948 hectares and a buffer zone of 3,714.98 hectares in front of the Celebes Sea . In order to protect the water quality in the bay, mining is also prohibited in the surrounding areas. The bay is one of the important ecotourism destinations in the region.
