University of Luzon

The University of Luzon (LU) ( Filipino : Pamantasan ng Luzon ) is located in the Pangasinan Province of the Philippines . It is a private university and is considered a major educational institution in the administrative region of the Ilocos region . The university campus and administrative headquarters are located on Perez Boulevard in Dagupan City . In total, around 16,000 students have enrolled at the university every semester since the mid-1980s. According to the university itself, it is one of the top 20 universities in the Philippines.

Programs

The University of Luzon houses a wide variety of faculties , these are divided into higher education and technical school areas, as well as training programs in vocational training. These are, for example, the training programs in the areas of Elementary, Law, Nursing, Engineering, Graduate Studies, Medical Technology, Midwifery, AIMT, Criminology, Journalism, Architecture, Human Resources Management and Tourism, Computer Science and Pharmacy and Information Technology and Globalization. Since the 2008/09 semester, correspondence courses have also been offered and an electronic learning system introduced. The university offers five level III-A training programs, this one in the areas of Criminology since 2006, Teacher Education programs (Elementary Education and Secondary Education), Commerce and Liberal Arts since 2007.

history

The university's origins go back to 1948, when the then mayor of Dagupan developed the concept of opening a secondary school, the Luzon College of Commerce and Business Administration (LCCBA). In 1952 the college was renamed Luzon Colleges (LC). In 2002 the college was given university status and the University of Luzon was established. In 2008 the College of Criminology was recognized as the first Center of Excellence in the Philippines by the State Education Agency.
