The Far Eastern University ( FEU ; Filipino : Pamantasan ng Malayong Silangan ) is a private university in the Philippines and is considered a major educational institution in the Philippines and in the administrative regions of Metro Manila , CALABARZON .

Locations

It has four other locations in the following municipalities:

  • the university's main campus is on Nicanor Reyes Street in Barangay Sampaloc, Manila
  • the FEU Makati Campus is located on Gil Puyat Avenue, at the intersection of the Zuellig Loop in Makati City
  • the FEU Diliman Campus is located on Sampaguita Avenue, Mapayapa Village, Barangay Diliman in Quezon City
  • Far Eastern College Silang is located on MetroGate Estates in Silang , Cavite Province

Faculties

The Far Eastern University houses various faculties , these are divided into higher education and technical school areas, as well as in the professional training in institutes and colleges . These are the Institute of Architecture and Fine Arts (IARFA), Institute of Accounts, Business and Finance (IABF), Institute of Arts and Sciences (IAS), Institute of Education (IE), Institute of Nursing (IN), Institute of Law (IL), Institute of Graduate Studies (IGS), Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management and the Far Eastern College.

history

The university was founded in 1928 when Dr. Nicanor Reyes founded Far Eastern University with the help of the Department of Economics in University of the Philippines. One year later the Institute of Accounts, Business and Finance (IABF) was founded. In 1933, with the merger with Far Eastern College, there was a further expansion of the training programs, these were Accountancy, Economics, Business Administration and Banking and Finance. The university building was completed in the 1930s. During the Second World War this was consfected by the Imperial Japanese Army and served as its headquarters ; the university stopped its work during this time . In 1945 she was re-opened and numerous politicians and managers in the economy went through the training programs of the university. Today it is considered the leading university in the training of managers in the Philippines.

Sports

The university has a total of 24 sports teams in the disciplines of basketball , volleyball , beach volleyball , table tennis , chess , football , taekwondo , fencing , badminton and triathlon . These teams are all referred to as FEU Tamaraws UAAP teams, their coat of arms and mascot is the Filipino national symbol , the Tamarau .
