Sadistic Intent is a thrash / death metal band from Los Angeles .
history
Sadistic Intent was founded in 1987 by Enrique Chavez and the Cortez brothers. After several line-up changes, the first demos emerged , which were heavily thrash-heavy and were mainly characterized by Possessed , Celtic Frost , Hellhammer and Dark Angel . In 1990 the band managed to sign a recording deal with Wild Rags Records . The debut EP Impending Doom was released. A tour of Mexico and the United States followed. After a dispute with the label, the next EP, A Calm Before the Storm, was self-distributed in 1991 and limited to 1,000 copies. After that, line-up problems dominated the band again. Chavez and drummer Joel Marquez left the band. Marquez moved to Mexico City while Chavez tried to start his own label. Bay Cortez then took over the vocals and Emilio Marquez got on as a drummer.
In 1993 the band returned with a live demo and in 1994 the MCD Resurrection was released on Gothic Records, the label of the former singer. In 1995 another EP called Ancient Black Earth followed on the band's own record label Dark Realm. In 1998 a split EP with the German black metal band Ungod followed on Merciless Records . As part of a tribute album , Sadistic Intent got the opportunity to record a possessed song with original singer Jeff Becerra. Enthusiastic about the ability of the band, Becerra decided in 2007 to start a new Possessed line-up with them.
Sadistic Intent last released an EP called Morbid Faith in 2002 on the German label Iron Pegasus Records . The band is still active today and has performed at several festivals, among others. a. at Milwaukee Metal Fest and Hole in the Sky 2008 in Norway. After more than 20 years of band history, the band's debut album will be released in 2008 .

Despite the relatively low output of the band, they are one of the most important names in the death metal underground in the United States. She played with some greats like Morbid Angel , Immolation , Dissection and Death , but feels obliged to the underground and does not try to make a big breakthrough. Their strictly limited EPs, however, were also on compilations together to introduce them to a wider audience.
