history

The band was formed in 2006 and emerged from the break-up of Degial of Embos, which had recorded a total of three demos . Degial initially consisted of Emil "Forcas" Svensson, Rickard "R. Meresin "Höggren and Hampus" Hampe Death "Eriksson. In the same year joined the demo Awakening from Darkness , which was produced by Fred Estby . The cover was designed by Erik Danielsson from Watain . After the EP Death and Darkness Buries All… was released on Blood Harvest in 2010 , Joel “J. Megiddo “Lindholm as bass player for the cast. The albums Death's Striking Wings and Savage Mutiny were released via Sepulchral Voice Records in 2012 and 2015 . On the latter, Davide “Set Teitan” Totaro from Watain can be heard as a guest musician. In Solitude's Pelle “Hornper” Åhman was the songwriter for the song Pallor , while his brother Gottfrid was the producer. The recordings had taken place in Leksand . In 2015 the band was at Party.San .

style

According to Janne Stark in The Heaviest Encyclopedia of Swedish Hard Rock and Heavy Metal Ever! The demo Awakening from Darkness offers old school death metal in the style of Morbid Angel and Possessed . Martin Wickler from Metal Hammer wrote in his review of Death's Striking Wings that the group plays classic Death Metal that is raw and unadulterated. As influences one can hear early Morbid Angel, classified between Altars of Madness and Abominations of Desolation . The production is spartan and the solos "quick scrubbing", while the lyrics are occult . The music could be assigned to the early phase of Florida death metal rather than classic Swedish death metal.

Like Stark and Wickler, Rock Hard's Mandy Malon called the music old-school death metal. The music is shaped by complex rhythms as well as memorable riffs and beats . In an interview with Malon, Eriksson stated that every member contributes something to all instruments. Playing the drums makes a significant contribution to the sound. He also makes sure that drums and electric guitar always play together. In the same interview, Höggren stated that the band did not use any specific sources for the lyrics, but let themselves be influenced by the sound of the music. In the same issue, Boris reviewed Kaiser Savage Mutiny and drew a comparison with Morbid Angel. In the meantime, however, the band has been able to set itself apart from its role models and is "forming a whole new spearhead" with groups like Vorum , Dead Congregation , Drowned and Sulfur Aeon .
