Wound is a German death metal band from Wiesbaden , which was founded in 2011.

history

The group formed in 2011 and was voted “demo band of the month” by the editors of RockHard magazine in December 2012 for their demo Confess to Filth . In July 2013 the band released their debut album Inhale the Void via FDA Rekotz / Soulfood , which was voted 5th in the monthly “Richter Scale” of RockHard and thus in the “Dynamite” category. After performing at the Party.San Festival 2013, drummer Appel left the band. In 2014 the band released the split EP Souls of Eternal Damnation with the German death metal band Obscure Infinity . Her second album, Engrained , was released on January 20, 2017, which was also released via FDA Rekotz / Soulfood.

style

The group plays classic death metal, which in terms of songwriting and sound is mainly based on bands of the early “Stockholm School” such as Nihilist , Entombed and Dismember , but also has elements of hard and crustcore , black metal and death 'n' roll records. The vocals act in the intersection between "classic" Death Metal growls and Black Metal. Frank Albrecht from RockHard magazine rated "Inhale the Void" with 8 out of 10 points and described the album as follows: "Inhale The Void" bludgeons with all consistency and a light hardcore / crust finish, while the vocals are sometimes a bit blackened and croaked become. "Inhale The Void" is not for musical beauties, but a mean, uncompromising chunk of primitive, but structured noise from the base.
