history

Liebesbankweg and view of Hahnenklee around 1907

A love bank gave it to its present location in the early 20th century and the trail with a view of Hahnenklee and Granetal was from then on Liebesbankweg called. On the initiative of Michael Bitter, who is responsible for tourism marketing in Goslar, this path was extended to a seven-kilometer circular route on a particularly attractive route, completely signposted and equipped with special sights, works of art and many special benches related to love . This new path opened in 2007.

Geographical location

The Liebesbankweg leads around the Bocksberg . The best way to get to the eponymous bank is to follow Liebesbankweg in the direction of Auerhahnteich from the parking lot east of the Gustav Adolf stave church in Hahnenklee . But there are also other entrances to the Auerhahn , Kreuzeck and Bockswiese.

course

The Hahnenklee Tourist Information Office has a leaflet available that describes all 25 attractions along the way. In addition to the artistically designed benches, which offer opportunities to linger and enjoy nature on the circular route, there are panels with small poems by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe , Heinrich Heine and Heinz Rudolf Kunze , the so-called Ge (h) -Dicht-Steine . Above the Auerhahnteich , the sculptor Oliver Pohl staged the evergreen by Drafi Deutscher “Marble, stone and iron breaks ...”. A little further on you meet the Harz gondolas at the Grumbacher ponds. There the Liebesbankweg runs for a part along the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Harz water shelf . Towards the end of the circular hiking trail, there is a remarkable Kneipp water treading basin in the Hundertwasser style . The circular route is about 7 kilometers long and does not pose any great challenges to the hiker. When skiing in winter, however, the Liebesbankweg is not advisable, as it crosses the ski slope in two places.

Possibility of viewing

From the Liebesbank there is a view towards Wolfshagen in the Harz Mountains over the 606  m above sea level. NN high Langentalskopf.
