The Liechtenstein Legal Journal (LJZ) is a legal journal . It has existed in the Principality of Liechtenstein since 1980 .

Editing and publication LJZ

The Liechtenstein Legal Journal has been published by the Association of Liechtenstein Judges (VLR) since 1980 and is also its official communication body. The Liechtenstein Legal Journal contains specialist articles specific to Liechtenstein and the Liechtenstein Collection of Decisions (LES). In addition to the specialist articles, book reviews are also published, particularly on publications in Germany, Liechtenstein, Austria and Switzerland.

The Liechtenstein Legal Journal is usually published four times a year. Sometimes special editions or double issues or five editions are published per year. An online version has been available since 2007.

Liechtenstein Collection of Decisions (LES)

The Liechtenstein Collection of Decisions (LES) as part of the LJZ is a summary of the most important decisions of the Liechtenstein courts and administrative authorities (not all judgments are published in full). The LES is an official collection of decisions by Liechtenstein courts and administrative authorities that is published on behalf of the Liechtenstein government. Up to December 31, 1977, the Liechtenstein government itself published an official collection of decisions at irregular intervals (so-called: “ Decisions of the Liechtenstein Courts ” - ELG). The decisions included in the LES are selected by the respective courts or tribunals and provided with guiding principles . Since July 2010, the decisions to be published have been selected by the editorial staff, which consists of full-time judges, and provided with guidelines.

Association of Liechtenstein Judges (VLR)

The Association of Liechtenstein Judges is an association under Liechtenstein law that is not geared towards profit and was founded on February 21, 1979. The constituent general assembly of the association took place on May 18, 1979. Based in Vaduz . The purpose of the association is:

  • promoting the administration of justice and the rule of law in the Principality of Liechtenstein,
  • maintaining and strengthening judicial independence ,
  • the promotion of organizational reforms as well as
  • supporting and representing the ideal, material and social interests of the judiciary.

As a means of achieving the purpose of the association, u. a. in particular the publication of the Liechtenstein Legal Journal (LJZ). The Association of Liechtenstein Judges is u. a. Member of the International Association of Judges. The association's president is currently Jürgen Nagel (Senate Chairman of the Higher Court).
