League committee (table tennis)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The League Committee in table tennis is a committee of the German Table Tennis Association DTTB , which analyzed the economic performance of the license clubs and then granted or denied a gaming license. Licensed clubs are the clubs of the 1st Bundesliga .

tasks

In addition to issuing licenses to the clubs, the league committee grants permission to licensed players and amateur players to play for a club in the licensed league. It also decides on applications from licensed players who want to be downgraded as amateurs. He takes care of the marketing of the Bundesliga, such as sponsors and television rights.

If the club representatives present at a meeting decide on a motion with a three-quarters majority, then the league committee submits this motion to the general meeting of the DTTB.

composition

The league committee consists of a chairman, a deputy chairman, two assessors and a league secretary of the DTTB. The current DTTB General Secretary has an advisory role as an extraordinary member without voting rights.

With the exception of the two DTTB representatives, the members of the league committee are elected by the assembly of the clubs of the license league. The associations are represented by a voting member. It is necessary that these elections are confirmed by the Federal General Assembly of the DTTB.

Potential for conflict

The league committee deals primarily with the interests of the licensing clubs. In contrast, the DTTB represents all German clubs and the national team. In the past, this has occasionally led to conflicts of interest.

history

The league committee was elected for the first time on March 18, 1994 in Mülheim an der Ruhr and confirmed by the DTTB's general assembly on June 11, 1994. At that time the committee consisted of three assessors. The first committee was composed of:
