Ligne de risque N ° 24 February 2009

Ligne de risque ( French for 'risk line') is the title of a French literary magazine . The magazine was founded in 1997 by the writers François Meyronnis , Yannick Haenel and Frédéric Badré . Ligne de risque is now one of the most important contemporary voices in French literature.

Emergence

When Ligne de risque was founded in Paris in 1997, the lost manuscript of Louis Aragon's Défense de l'Infini (Defense of Infinity) appeared again at the same time . The then young writer had worked on this between 1923 and 1927 and, according to his own admission, handed it over to the fire in Madrid in 1927. Since then only a few fragments had appeared in print. The new edition by Lionel Follet expanded the scope by 19 chapters.

In Ligne de risque we took the opportunity to highlight the young Aragon again. This was the 1930s to the 1960s as a member of the mid français Communiste Parti the Stalinism justified. The real discovery of André Breton and Louis Aragon were the chants of Maldoror and the poems of the Montevideer Isidore Ducasse , called Lautréamont. The works, to which Surrealism already referred, formed the material of previous discussions for Ligne de risque , without which the independent dynamics of this magazine would remain hidden.

development

With their decision to defend literature as such against ubiquitous appropriation by the so-called literary business , as well as the hasty qualification of certain dubious publications as “literature”, the authors made themselves anything but popular. In doing so, however, they secured the benevolent support of the writer Philippe Sollers . He also became the publisher of her books and heads the L'Infini collection at Gallimard . Sollers has always contributed his own contributions to various topics for Ligne de risque since the beginning . Some of them appeared in the anthology Poker .

Literature: "An Intersection of Poetry and Thought"

The naturalness with which novels are written nowadays, and the disregard that goes with it for the intellectual, testifies, according to Meyronnis, to a deep resentment , a "spirit of vengeance" (Nietzsche) towards intelligence. Literature has to be thought first, because this is the only way to get to a novel.

Quotes

Nowadays a writer is confronted with a double obstacle: on the one hand, the "literary" language is completely dead and with it all the conventions that serve to deliver a fable, on the other hand the spoken word has been subjected to an incredible expropriation (...) It is no longer possible about presenting an event and then finding the appropriate language; the point is that language creates the event itself, so to speak. Like a midrash .

Ligne de risque N ° 13-14, Tout reprendre (French: repeat everything)

The age of perfect metaphysics has as its secret drive the escalation of the rejection with which occidental metaphysics has always encountered nothingness and emptiness. This meanwhile rabid rejection is now characterized by an omnipresent predominance of beings, of beings that can be constantly subjected to calculations and converted into numbers at every microsecond. (...) What dominates the global age (...) is an unfavorable relation to nothingness inherited from metaphysics.
